February always feels like a mix of slowing down after the holiday chaos and gearing up for fresh creative energy. Perfect timing, because this month’s email is packed with updates!

I’m always brainstorming new ways to connect with YOU and share content that truly inspires. Whether you want to level up your art skills, peek behind the curtain at my creative process, or get the lowdown on how I run my creative business, I want to know:

🎨Uppercase Magazine Submission
For the second year in a row, I’ve submitted my art for Uppercase Magazine’s Surface Pattern Design issue (where 100 designers are featured). The deadline was last month, and by March, I’ll find out if I made the cut.
Being featured would be a dream, especially since it could also lead to a collaboration with Windham Fabrics. But with 790+ submissions, I know the odds are steep.
Still, I’d rather try and hear a “no” than sit on the sidelines wondering what if? If nothing else, putting myself out there helps me refine my work and get comfortable with the fun (read: nerve-wracking) process of submitting to opportunities.

💌Valentine's Day Cards on Thortful
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and if you love a good pun or a heartfelt sentiment, I’ve got you covered! My Thortful shop has a sweet selection of love-filled cards, perfect for partners, friends, or anyone who deserves a little appreciation this month.
🚨Temu Again?!
Sigh. I made the mistake of doing a few more searches on Temu (I know, I know—I shouldn’t have done it), and what do I find? Eight more of my greeting card designs were stolen and sold without my permission.
When the first design of yours gets stolen, it’s weirdly validating (oh wow, someone thought my art was good enough to rip off?). But when you find more stolen work, it’s no longer flattering—it’s insulting.
So now I’m at a crossroads. Do I:
1️⃣ Report the infringers to Temu, knowing I have to provide my personal contact information (which I really don’t feel comfortable with)?
2️⃣ Do nothing and just let it happen?
It should be a simple choice, but the privacy concerns make me hesitate. What would YOU do? Have you ever dealt with something like this? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I know, I know—Christmas is long gone, but hear me out! This year, I created some tropical holiday-themed greeting cards, because why should snow get all the festive fun?
🎅 Santa’s Cabana – where Saint Nick swaps his sleigh for a surfboard.
🎄 Decked-Out Sand Trees – because Christmas trees can be made of anything with enough creativity.
🍹 Festive Drinks Under Palm Trees – cheers to a warm holiday season!
